Terms of use

Tipcode is provided “as is”. It applies the 2026 General Instructions for Forms W-2 and W-3 (box 12 code TP and box 14b) and the IRS list of tipped occupations to the tips you provide. It is not tax or legal advice, doesn't run payroll and doesn't file anything. It can't tell you which occupation best fits an employee's duties, whether a tip is a qualified tip, or whether an employee can take the deduction. You remain responsible for your Forms W-2. Tipcode is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the IRS or any POS or payroll provider.

Free plan

The free plan lets you check tips files of any size and see the code TP total, the occupation codes, every check and a limited number of employees, for personal or business use.

Pro

Pro is licensed per person. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; the 7-day pass expires after 7 days. Refunds are available within 14 days if Tipcode can't read your tips file or computes code TP or box 14b incorrectly.

Acceptable use

Don't resell or redistribute license keys.
